Starting at Glangrwyney Village Hall we follow a footpath through several fields and a quiet road past Hall Farm. Rising steeply to the road end, a track takes us to a good path which gradually ascends Sugar Loaf. (596m/1966ft). After a rest at the top, hopefully with distant views and out of the wind, we descend the grassy western ridge to a farm track and a quiet road. A path takes us down to the lovely Grwyne Fawr river which we follow to Llangenny Bridge. We continue next to the river passing an iconic sweet chestnut tree and the fields back to Glangrwyney.
DIRECTIONS TO START
From CRiC take the A40 towards Abergavenny. After 2 miles Glangrwyney Village Hall is on the left, just before the Bluebell Inn on the right.
