An evening/night walk from Crickhowell. Leaving the town we cross the river and walk to the canal at Dardy. We ascend a stony track to Ffawyddog and follow the route of the Usk Valley Walk across fields, often wet underfoot. We descend another stony track and fields to meet the canal again, about a mile east of Llangynidr. We walk along the canal towpath to West Lodge on the Glanusk Estate. We cross Glanusk Bridge and follow the river Usk downstream to Crickhowell.
DIRECTIONS TO START
CRiC - the Crickhowell Resource and Information Centre - is situated on the A40 in the centre of Crickhowell. The post code is NP8 1BN.There is a public Pay and Display car park immediately behind the CRiC building which is accessed from Greenhill Way by the Fire Station. At the weekends a voluntary donation allows you to use the School Car Park. Continue along the A40 to the Shell Petrol Station. Turn left and the school is on your right.
