Leader: Eliane Wigzell

Join local historian, Eliane Wigzell, for a walk along the banks of the river Usk and the permissive path which runs through the Glanusk estate. En route, we'll visit Penmyarth Chapel and the site of the mansion. Following a walk along the canal, we'll visit St Catwg’s in Llangattock, before returning to Bullpit Meadow. Along the way, Eliane will tell the story of the Baileys and their estate - a story grounded in the Industrial Revolution, but one that also takes in the worlds of politics, military endeavour, and sport.

DIRECTIONS TO START

Allow 5-10 minutes to walk from CRiC. From CRiC turn right and after 100m cross the road and turn left, heading down the High Street. After 200m, at the fork, head right down Bridge Street. This will take you to the Bridge and Bullpit Meadow is on the opposite side of the road. A short walk to the right and you will find a gate into the meadow.
