From CRiC we ascend Cwm Cumbeth and continue ascending past the Darren to the magnificent rim of Cwm Mawr. A pause at Pen Gloch-y-pibwr then on to Pen Allt-mawr, the high point of our day ay at 2360ft. We descend to the north and turn south-east down Cwm Banw following a series of sheep tracks until we meet a good path which follows the boundary of access land until we meet the Beacons Way. Our final ascent takes us to Table Mountain for the return to Crickhowell down fields and a quiet road.
DIRECTIONS TO START
CRiC - the Crickhowell Resource and Information Centre - is situated on the A40 in the centre of Crickhowell. The post code is NP8 1BN.There is a public Pay and Display car park immediately behind the CRiC building which is accessed from Greenhill Way by the Fire Station. At the weekends a voluntary donation allows you to use the School Car Park. Continue along the A40 to the Shell Petrol Station. Turn left and the school is on your right.
