This short circular walk starts at the Welsh Venison Centre and takes us over Allt yr Esgair, an often-overlooked small peak west of Bwlch. We will discover an Iron Age fort, a Roman road, a 19th century folly, and hopefully have stunning views all round (weather permitting). The climb is moderate and will be taken at a gentle pace.
Tea/coffee and cakes are available at the finish.
DIRECTIONS TO START
Take the A40 towards Brecon. The first village you come to is Bwlch. As you leave the village take the right hand turn off the left hand bend, just after the speed derestricted sign. Keep right at the first fork and the Venison Centre/ Beacons Farm Shop is on your left.
