A walk of varied terrain and interesting places, taking in a hidden valley, a medieval pin well, a hidden pub, pudding stones, panoramic views, the Cambrian Way, an 18C tower and a canal! Finishing at a country pub with good food and real ales.
DIRECTIONS TO START
Take the A40 to Abergavenny. At the first roundabout take the second exit, at the second roundabout second exit over the bridge. At the Waitrose roundabout take the third exit, A465. At the end of the dual carriageway, take the third exit, signposted A4042, Cwmbran. Keep on this road to the village of Llanover. As you go up the rise at the end of the village turn right, signposted Pencroesoped and with a brown sign to the Horseshoe Inn. The pub is 2 miles along this road, after an ‘S’ bend. Please park in overflow car park immediately before the pub and on your left after 100m.
