A ramble through the 18th century Clytha Estate taking in the banks of the river Usk, Coed y Bwynydd hillfort, a Templar church and a romantic memorial to a much loved wife.
DIRECTIONS TO START
The walk start is 13 miles from CRiC; allow 30 minutes. Turn right along A40 towards Brecon and then left at the Shell garage down New Road, over Crickhowell Bridge and turn left on A4077 for 4 miles to Gilwern roundabout. Then follow the A465 towards Abergavenny. At the Hardwick Gyratory, keep right past the A465 Hereford exit and take the next exit, B4598 signposted Usk. Drive for 5 miles and look for right turn sign (opposite ornate gates) to Bettws Newydd and NT Clytha Car Park. Follow this road for 300m to the Car Park on the right.
